Carpe Diem & NWHSU Night at Target Field: One to Remember

There are game nights, and then there are nights like this one.

Under the lights at Target Field, Northwestern Health Sciences University students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, and friends filled the stands for an evening that had everything: a packed section, a ceremonial first pitch, and a Twins blowout to send everyone home happy.

The First Pitch

The highlight came before a single out was recorded. Carpe Diem part-owner Brock Friesen took the field alongside NWHSU President Dr. Deb Bushway for the ceremonial first pitch, a moment that drew a huge cheer from the Carpe Diem and NWHSU crowd and set the tone for the entire night.

Seeing our university represented on that mound, in front of a Target Field crowd, was the kind of moment that sticks with you. It was a reminder of how far the NWHSU community reaches and how proud this community is to show up for one another.

The Twins Delivered

The team clearly got the memo. The Twins put together a dominant performance from start to finish, cruising to an 11-1 win that had the whole ballpark on its feet. Every inning seemed to bring another rally, another round of high fives down the row, another reason to stay standing.

It’s hard to script a better night: great weather, great company, and a home team that never let up.

More Than a Ballgame

What made the evening special wasn’t just the score. It was walking into the section and seeing classmates and colleagues out of scrubs and lab coats, meeting each other’s kids and partners, and swapping stories between innings. It was community who spend their days learning side by side getting to celebrate side by side.

Community is something Carpe Diem talks about a lot. Nights like this are what it actually looks like.

Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, wore their Carpe Diem and NWHSU gear with pride, and made the night what it was. Thank you to Dr. Bushway for representing our university on the field. And a special thank you to Brock Friesen, the turnout to support you was something to see.

To everyone who couldn’t make it this time: we hope to see you at the next one. Something tells us this won’t be the last time Carpe Diem and NWHSU takes over Target Field.

Go Twins. Go NWHSU. Go Carpe Diem!
